Hello everyone. ♥
It's been a while since I've felt so comfortable with my legs.
I hope I didn't keep anyone waiting too long. Next time there's a dance, let's all have a lot of fun!

Mm, and really!
You've all been so nice, that I've managed to get everything I need!
(ノ゚ー゚)ノ☆Good job!☆ヾ(゚ー゚ヾ)

Noh Kun, Tim Kun, thank you!

Should we get started for real now?
I have enough to build my equipment and the components to make what I want!

The last things on my list are············
Headphones with a frequency response of 20 Hz - 20kHz
8 or 9 HDMI input cables

Finally...!

Do you know how hard it is trying to make a hat stay on with cat ears?? I had to cut a hole in the back of my pants, too. Jeez.

At the risk of being completely repetitive...

[ guess who doesn't sound too happy? and once the video turns on to Natasha, you can probably see why. sitting perched on top of her head are two black cat ears, twitching slightly at each sound. also, you might catch a hint of a waving tail behind her, flicking in and out of the video.

she's wearing a scowl. ]

You have got to be kidding. How long is this supposed to last?

Last month, I considered teaching and I am still interested in taking on additional students, but this month and the following months, I would like to share with you the joy of things I've found here. I realize limiting myself is unnecessary, but the blogsphere of Earth typically necessitates some pattern, and I would like to follow that. Every month, I will share with you music I've found, but there may also be films, television shows, and even plays. Ah, the wonderful words of Oscar Wilde are best depicted through acting, even if I have not had the honor myself of witnessing The Importance of Being Earnest.

But that will come another time. Music first!

This month, I discovered the wonder of Johnny Cash. His most famous tune is Walk the Line, though perhaps that is because there is a film with that name. Many films feature this song in order to offer themselves some "legitimacy." It captures the truly masculine feeling of "Walking the Line."

To offer variety, I have further looked into the early punk genre. Tim Drake of the Brew offered me an insight to the Clash, but here is another addition to that genre: The Ramones. This is "I Wanna Be Sedated," which is again their most popular of songs, but it is difficult to miss.

As another genre switch, I have explored the many glorious tunes of the 60s girl groups, but I have broadened my horizons. I believe we should all be familiar with the 90s girl groups as well. They were edgy for their times. Salt-N-Pepa's Push It is an unavoidable earworm. They also provided sexual education lessons at one point. They were clearly a bold addition to the music sphere. After all, shouldn't we talk about sex when it is necessary?

Related to them is TLC, a considerably more talented trio also from the 90s. They also spoke about sex. Ah, but they had a dramatic turn some years ago when they lost their most interesting member, Left Eye. How unfortunate that she does not live on. But I do believe most are familiar with Waterfalls. If not, then that should change. This, too, is a thinly veiled reference to Earth-based sexual activity.

Finally, I have explored other openings of the Gundam franchise and I have decided I enjoy Uverworld quite a bit. They have also done openings for Bleach that are difficult to not enjoy. How can you dislike this?

I believe that is sufficient for this month.

I've developed a guilty pleasure for watching these competitive "reality shows" on television.

I'm not sure why they call them that. It's an arbitrary name, when you think about it. "Reality shows" hardly capture reality.

The competition aspect of them is often rather pointless as well. What does eating a pound of brains prove, other than that the contestant has no gag reflex? Why not test your mettle at an actual survival skill?

( He falls silent, but not because he's thinking. He's already aware of the situation. )

Given the island setting, I'd say I'm in one such "reality show" now.

But my strength feels considerably limited, so being voted off the island seems like my best option...

( Shatterstar heaves a sigh, having finally resigned himself to acceptance. )

... or it would be, if that offer were on the table. I know enough about captivity to know this is a different kind of game.

Noh-Varr, you're pretty good at karaoke. You should come over sometime and give me some tips. My roommate's all worked up with the flood of randoms, so we'll have the whole place to ourselves.

Kate, unsurprisingly you're beyond help.

Loki, good work with the tambourine.

It might be too early to call, but it looks like we have a major influx of new arrivals, same as last summer when Magneto first arrived. Everyone keep their eyes open; if it's like last time, they're not just appearing in the hospital. There's no filter, nobody guaranteeing they're stable enough to interact with us safely, and every reason to think they'll be frightened and confused.

Anyone with advanced sensory tech, if you see someone appear, get me your readings as soon as possible. Please.

This might be our best chance to learn something about the mechanisms of arrival and release, and I don't want to miss it.

Thank you for the demonstration yesterday, Simca. It was very enlightening.

Along the same lines of demonstrating—

I have decided to provide lessons to those who are willing in science and mechanical training. Among other things, of course, but I will start small. If you are interested, please contact me at [phone number] or at notmarvelboy @ nmail.com.

My time as a teacher was enlightening: though I was not myself, the act of teaching others is not difficult, even if I need to limit what knowledge I share.

Beyond that, it has been a truly interesting month here. I hope New Moore will continue to intrigue me.

I haven't been here that long.
But it already feels like a lot longer with everything that's happened.

Oh···················!!
I need some parts! Gears, wheels, screws, wires, dials anything like that. The more variety, the better.
Even some unique ones that you can't buy.
All different shapes sizes.

Anyone want to help a girl out? ~~-v(* ̄・ ̄)

Who: Kazu, anyone
Where: Just out and about anywhere, really.
When: June 20th
What/Why: Kazu's going on a night run to not work out any feelings he definitely doesn't have about making out with his not dead mentor.

[You may look outside your window--because you heard the screech of a SWEET GRIND, or saw something fly past your window, or maybe because you caught the glow of the embers--to see the quiet street below is on fire.

Kazu stands at the center of a blaze which, briefly, roars above his head before disappearing, leaving no evidence of it's existence besides Kazu, bent over and panting like he's been running all night.

Which, to be fair, he has.]

Who: Absolutely anyone interacting with anybody else. Please tag your character when you comment.
Where: The New Brew coffeeshop.
When: Mid-June, any afternoon, Half-Price Coffee Hour.
What/Why: A chance for any characters who like tea or coffee to pick up new CR! Especially all you new folks.

Since Tim had taken over the New Brew and promptly left it closed for three weeks, he was determined to get business moving as quickly as he could manage now that it was open again. At the moment, he was short on ongoing projects, and long on time to think about things he'd rather not brood over. Sinking his energy into selling coffee was a top-notch distraction.

Half-Price Coffee Hour, advertised on signs and flyers across town, was quick, simple way to drum up business. For one hour every day -- starting at 1 PM on Mondays, 2 PM on Tuesdays, and so on until it was 7 PM on Sundays -- every unmixed in the shop, tea or coffee or espresso or chai or rooibos, sold for 50% off. Anything more complicated was still full price. Tables were set up with samples to taste or merchandise to sell. And every counter and seat in the place tended to fill up, friends cramming together into corners, strangers left elbow to elbow at the barstools or negotiating an awkward game of musical chairs.

Since there was no need to mix drinks for most of the customers, just pour and serve, Tim took every chance he got to wander the floor, greeting new customers or talking with friends. Who said Tim Drake couldn't be social?

Lots of people. But most of them got their coffee at Starbox.

So, now I have two report cards for two different sophomore years.

Same grades for both, which is a little funny, since when I was actually a high school sophomore things were a little more up and down.

And I now remember having attended way more parties and sports games than I ever made it to when I was actually in high school. I'm definitely going to have to hit the beach more often this summer. Maybe stock up on my R & R, since I'm going to be doubling my courseload next year.

Nico, there's no uniform needed for the New Brew. Dress classy, but that's just a general guidelines and I'm sure you'll do fine with it. Actually, when you come by for your first shift, remind me and I'll give you some money out of the cashbox for it; Ianto always kept me in blazers and silk ties when I was working for him. We'll continue the tradition.

Jason, as soon as we're closed for the evening I'll come by and help clean up after that after-party.

After that, I don't care if I was just there yesterday -- it's beach time again. Nico, Jason, Steph, Souji, Yosuke, Ramona, Kate, Victor, Loki, Noh-Varr, Feliks, -- who's in?

And does anybody know whose phone number is written on my hand ?

[Damian does not know how to talk to people. This has been established numerous times over, and that was when he didn't even have a reason to need to interact with anybody outside his immediate family, and he'd needed no other friend but Dick. Times have changed, and he'd rather die than be friends with Tim Drake and Jason Todd. Having to acknowledge them is bad enough. Living with somebody else was better than them.

But this roommate thing? Yeah. He is so not having this.
]

Anyone tasteless enough to play pop songs older than my father until 4 in the morning deserves to have their stereo system systematically dismantled and crushed into dust.

[He is not asking for approval or validation. This is not opinion. Damian Wayne has said it, and therefore it is fact. It's just a question of- has he done it yet?]

Anyone know what the hell that dome around the island's made of?

01 June 2013 @ 03:42 pm
Who: Tim Drake, Steph Brown, Noh-Varr, and a lurking Jason Todd.
Where: Universal House of Waffles.
When: ~3 AM June 1st.
What: Sing-alongs, waffles, and recovery from an unspecified amount of drinking.

Having fun had really not been on the agenda for the evening, but stumbling down the street between the Nancing Phony and UHOW, Tim could admit to himself that for once he was glad the night wasn't going according to plan. He wasn't sure how long the three of them had spent talking in the Phony, or exactly how many rounds of drinking there had been (more than three), but somewhere around the point where he, Steph, & Noh-Varr had started conspiring together to determine what drinks it would be funniest to send over to Jason's corner, he'd given up trying to make sense of things, and reminded himself that tonight was supposed to be about going with the flow.

Blinking, he realized he'd been staring at his feet as he walked, carefully measuring each step, and looked up to make sure the others were still with him. UHOW was only a few steps away.

So of course when I bother to do this in person nothing actually happens. Been sitting here for hours. Of course nobody notices, that's the point, but it's the part where nobody understand tha gets to me.

It's about priorites. That's all it is,. So sometimes I get upset about things that don't bopther anybody else. And maybe I don't get as angry or heartbroken as everyone seems to think I should about other things. That doesn't mean I don't care. Didn't care. Whatever.

It really doesn'ty, Kate. I wasn't going to make a scene. We're driends. if that doesn't change the rest honestly doesn't botehr me thatr much. But I still acre. You know that I

Anyway. Honestly/ Everyhjing is going all right. Not well, not on plan, but everyone expecting me to be misrabl; and broken up or anythinh is going to be disappointed, because I've got it all

Well. Not under control. But I don't need control. When you're in the wayerf you never have contropl but that doesn't mean you can't float. Knowing hwo to surf is just the same.

I'm going to ghet up and walk over to Conmrda's now. If i'm going to look like an idiot is't better to do it where everybody knows tyour name.

[Maybe he should have warned someone working at Robbin' Baskins that he would be sleeping in their freezer, but he really doesn't think about these things.

He might have been...tempted to sneak some of the ice cream while he was in there.

He does this for as long as he can before he's interrupted. He doesn't just stick to that freezer (though it is certainly the tastiest). Waking up, he'll blearily rub his eyes before flying off to the next closest public building with a decent sized walk-in freezer to collapse in comfortably yet again. Sometimes he'll make a pile of snow to lie on, but not always. And each time, he's virtually motionless, as if he's been there for much longer.

So there's a random guy in your walk-in freezers who happens to be covered in a thin layer of frost that coats his entire body each time.]

[Some time later, he decides to make a post about it. Just as a warning.]

If you see a guy in a blue sweatshirt with his eyes closed in your freezer, I'm just sleeping. If he's not wearing a blue sweatshirt, it's not me and you should probably be more concerned.

over the past couple of months ive noticed something
there are quite a few people here here who talk about the same general idea of an activity involving the manipulation of time and or space to create certain outcomes
or explore certain alternatives
which can be colloquially called TIME TRAVEL since thats technically what it is even if youre not calling it that
i am just going to lump it together under that to make my point easier
but all the specifics and the actual methods seem to differ from person to person
or really from alternate possibility of moving through and altering time to alternate possibility
since some of us come from the same place and use the same power and rules to different purposes and techniques
so to take some of the confusion out of it and make it easier for everyone to understand what everyone else is talking about i have compiled this handy guide to all the versions of time travel ive come across
complete with charts!

for reference here is our hypothetical time traveler

cut for length and images )

so thats it!
as you can see dave and i do it in a very complicated fashion but i think for most other people it becomes a much simpler matter
but if i have it wrong please feel free to let me know so i can add the intricacies and details to the guide for future reference
and if you have any questions feel free to ask!

D --> I had a question to ask
D --> The human Dave has suggested to me that I could possibly earn income by marketing my skills as a robotic engineer
D --> Are there those of the island who would find this useful
D --> I can make almost any kind of robot, for any function
D --> I could probably also expand my skills to include vehicles, if given the time to read about them
D --> Does anyone want robots
D --> I would really like to make more robots
D --> Please

[TEXT]

Now that things have quieted down we need to talk, meet me at the New Brew coffee shop in 20 minutes.

[ACTION]

[Carol's actually sitting at New Brew when she sends the text out. She'd been having problems concentrating on the kids all day despite the fact that things were getting back to normal after the last incident. As soon as her last class of the day got out she flew over in full uniform, ordered something with entirely too much caffeine and shot Noh the text.

Only thing to do now is sit and wait. And try not to seethe. Hank told him to stay away from Earth, but she knew Noh-Varr didn't have any control over coming here. She knew that but the sting of him betraying them and trying to take the Phoenix still stung.

They trusted him.

Yeah, if there's any way to drink coffee angrily Carol's doing it.]
