The course of time flows the same within this place, though I couldn't say what lies beyond it. With it, things go as quickly as they come. As this tragedy, sometimes seen as a blessing, carries on. I am still here, and still searching. As, I believe, many of us still are.

The truth is still hidden among riddles woven within the events of last year. Still, nothing has changed.

So, I ask humbly, as I sit here among piles of paperwork for events that I still find incredulous, what should New Moore's resolution be for the coming year?

Y'know, I always thought the whole "key to the city" bullshit was only for movies but apparently not!

THINGS ARE THAT ARE NOW ILLEGAL IN NEW MOORE: Murder, being a boring sod

THINGS THAT ARE NOW LEGAL IN NEW MOORE: Everything else!

FIRST ORDINANCE: In t-minus 60 I'm turning this shite government building into a mandatory party, we're all getting twatted and not participating is a punishable offence or something. Oi lawyer guy, you're in charge of that part! I'm busy doing important kingly shit like locating a keg or five thousand.

Look, I know I need a vacation, but it wasn't very nice to drug me and forcibly drag me here, Maya. In fact, it might even be illegal!

All right.  After reviewing some of the reports from over the last year, I figured a warning might be in order.

The longest irregular incident to take place on the island so far was centered around Christmas, last year.  Twelve days of anomalies -- thefts, dangerous weather, sexual harassment, wild animals... real fun-times stuff.  Chances are good that we're due for another round of trouble this year.

Obviously I'm not asking anyone to curb festivities, but keep an eye out as you prepare to celebrate.  The petition to make mistletoe a controlled substance on the island has been denied, and I understand there's been a little vigilante prosecution of seasonal figures going on -- so let mm remind you that the fat guy collecting for charities in the department store is not the real Santa, and he has not committed any crimes punishable by law; so any harassment of him will be taken very seriously by this department.

And for your own sake, go easy on the eggnog.

This is Miles Edgeworth. Where shall I begin? This day has certainly been … unique.

This morning I woke up in someone else's body. I'm sure you're all aware of the situation by now, as there's a flood of posts on the network of individuals who have found their bodies switched with others around the island. Despite spending most of the day trying to distinguish some kind of pattern to this madness, I've found myself at a loss. I'm sure this will once again be dubbed by nothing more than some kind of "hallucination" that we all must be experiencing. I propose that we produce some viable evidence. Photographs, recordings, anything.

Now, Jack Harkness, correct? I believe this is your body. I will take good care of it, I promise you, though I find your wardrobe lacking. It's fine, I'll take it upon myself to find something more suitable, at least until everything returns to normal.

I'm also not quite sure how to address the next of my concerns.

Whoever swapped bodies with your roommate is unable to control some kind of supernatural ability. I was never entirely convinced of the existence of such things, however … I cannot deny what I saw. At least, not without the proper evidence. I would like to ask for aid before I return to the room, either from someone able to contain the creature, or the proper authorities.

Well. This has certainly been a ... hm. interesting few weeks, hasn't it?

I must say, whatever I had expected coming into this town, this is no where near what I had imagined. I do believe there are quite a bit of mysterious happenings going on that even I can not fully explain.

Well, I suppose it is time I get to the point of the matter.

As there appear to be many unforeseen events and unfortunate circumstances, I agree with the point that a few of my students have brought to my attention. It is unreasonable to expect that any student come to class if such an act will pose a threat or is, for some reason, impossible.

As such, I have set up a sort of 'online' course site for each of my classes. I would prefer for you all to continue to attend class whenever possible, but you may use your computers to submit your work and review the lecture for the day. I hope this helps keep all of you a bit safer. Please feel free to contact me, anytime you are having troubles.

Alright everyone. Remember The Nancing Phony? The one that hulking dwarf Varric ran before he disappeared? (Excuse me, I mean, "was released".) I kind of inherited it, and thanks to some fine legal work by Mr. Edgeworth, we can open for business.

So. Come on in. Bar is open sundown to sunrise. And Edgeworth-- your drinks are on me.

I have been asked to make a statement concerning the confusion of the past week.

We ask for your cooperation in this confusing time; while the New Moore Police Department works to repair the damages from this unfortunate event. It is not the policy of the NMPD to discuss the ongoing investigation into the use of this as of yet unidentified hallucinogenic. It is at this time we feel it necessary to remind the public that New Moore does not support vigilante justice. Any actions viewed as such may result in the detaining and questioning of those involved.

Due to the nature of this event, no one has yet been deemed responsible for the events that transpired, be they real or imagined. No lives were permanently lost and New Moore will repair all damages caused by the incident. Any actions taken toward individuals under the perceived sense of justice for imagined crimes will be in direct contempt of this statement. Persons involved will be brought in for questioning as deemed necessary for the safety of New Moore and held for observation until such time as they are deemed safe to the public.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation,
Police Chief Thomas Kreise

Detective,

It looks as if we have another quite interesting dilemma on our hands. I would like another look at New Moore Law. Oddly, despite the colorful array of interesting people that we have on this island, I had never expected such a catastrophe. Being only eight at the time that it had occurred, I found myself unable do much of anything to prevent it.

I've read the reports of the last time this happened, a "supervillain" calling himself "Victorious." This cannot be written off as a hallucination as the government wishes, I simply do not believe it. There must be an explanation. While I pursue the truth, I have an important question to ask you.

Those who've killed others in this massacre, even though against the government's insistence, were still killed, and they still suffered. What are the measures of prosecution? If someone, even in the future or past of themselves, has caused another to suffer, they have still caused them to suffer. I ask how this plans to be pursued by the New Moore Police Department.

-

While I do not understand some of the events that have transpired, I suppose this brings up a good question for the citizens of New Moore. While those scramble to verify the safety of their friends, I must ask this question.

After yesterday's occurrence, and the laws that are in place, what do we plan to do? Shall we stand by as this happens again? Despite the government insisting this was nothing but a hallucination, the destruction that the event caused is very, very real, and many people suffered because of that recklessness. While the Police Department does their part, I will do mine. What do you say, New Moore? Shall those who caused this be prosecuted, even though they were obviously not themselves at the time that the event occurred? Shall we walk into another event blindly without evaluating our own safety?

What precautions shall we put in place as this island's citizens, and what shall we do to make sure that this does not happen again?

For now, I pray for the safety of those looking for their loved ones.

[There is the image of a young boy moving the screen, tipping it back and forth and peering into it to make sure no more adjustments need to be made. When he seems satisfied, he sits back on his heels, knees to his chest. It's hard to tell where he is, as the background is mostly obscured by his small body. To all of those who knew him as the man with the cravat, he is now the boy with a bow tie. He looks a little nervous, but is doing his best to save face and be brave.]

I have made some observations that I'd like to share.

This place is called "New Moore," right? Someone said that this could be the future, but nothing like that has ever happened to me before. There are other people here, too. Some of them are scary, and some of them aren't. Some of them have different laws, so on that alone, I can assume that this is their first time here, too. I don't know the laws in this place, or even if the laws are the same as the place I come from. I've seen a few people say some mean things.

The system here works, it has to! There's a police department, and that means that everyone who breaks the law will be fully accountable for their actions. So don't break the law, no one will feel sorry for you if you do something bad and then you go to jail.

[For a moment, he looks puzzled, and then his voice gets a little softer, and his eyes avert as if he's done something wrong.]

I still don't know where my father is, and if I'm gone too long, I'll make him worry … I'll be okay. I'll be okay for a little longer until he can find me.
