Ignoring the whole class consent form weirdness for the moment... has everyone else noticed how little sense this island makes? And I don't mean how we all got here, what we are, volcanoes and magic snow and things like that. Simple stuff. I'm the night stockboy at Juanes, and there are always new things to stock -- where are they being delivered from? Does somewhere on the island manufacture them? In which case, do we have a refinery for plastic, and an offshore oil well? Where are the materials coming from? Where is all our food coming from?

And on an island where nobody leaves and nobody visits, why do we have a hotel?

Any insights, detective? You probably have a little more access to information than a stockboy.

There are regulations on book about tampering with shipments, but no explanation where they're delivered from. Naturally there are stockyards for receiving them, but where..

My guess would be that the level of tech this place claims to have is far below the level of technology they've used to bring us here and contain us.

Guess that sounds kind of paranoid, though.

Can tell just from the air you people don't do much with lumber. Not the right climate anyway.

That classy building the hotel? It's probably where they torture people, those builds are always the nicest in town.

... Orrr... it could just be a posh, upscale hotel and we just happen to be here during the off-season?

It looks like a season, and I haven't seen all of them yet! Maybe there's a whole fleet of cruise ships just gearing up to drop off a bunch of pale, clammy German tourists in bermuda shorts? Next month we might be awash with knick-nacks!
