Open Log | Saturday the 13th

Who: Remus, Sirius and anyone who happens by before or during their conversation
What: Remus gives Sirius a second chance to explain his half of the story.
Where: The Park
When: Saturday
Warnings: All the sads.

Remus had settled onto a bench near the west side of the park, hunched over himself with his hands folded in his lap. Sirius' words had been weighing heavily on him since their last encounter, and the older wizard had quietly been trying to break apart the two sides of the story and understand what had really happened ever since. Most of his time had been spent in the place he had been assigned to live, avoiding the chance of running into Sirius again.

He wanted to believe it so badly. That was perhaps why he had fought doing so, so hard. What if his own hopes were clouding his ability to look at this properly? What if Sirius really had been guilty, and Remus agreed too soon to trust him again? He was not sure he could handle or survive the betrayal a second time. Not when he had already lost everything.

But there was also the distinct possibility that Sirius was telling the truth. That Remus' first instincts had been that it could not have been true. The Sirius he knew was not capable of such terrible things.

He sighed and stared at the ground between his feet. He had left both their wands behind in his room, unwilling to let his emotions get the better of him again while he was armed. Or maybe unwilling to risk Sirius taking either of them from him.

He was not sure anymore.
